McCain/Palin and vets

John McCain always struck me as a guy who didn't think vets needed GI Bill educational benefits because all they'd need to do to get into a good college was get their grandaddy to approve their admission and have them given a full scholarship. That's what he did, no reason everybody couldn't do it that way.

Jon Soltz seems to think even less of McCain's choie of running mate than I do about McCain

have to assume with no real history of judgment of her own on war, Palin will back John McCain's dismal judgment on military and veterans matters - endless war in Iraq, inability or unwillingness to get Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan, opposing education benefits and greater VA funding, continued overextension of our military, and a shoot-first/think-later mentality.
